My daughter's legs were being scratched by the rough velcro when she crawled. -- RNMOM (November 30/02)
I bought one Prorap Basic diaper cover from my local Baby Diaper Service just to try them out for my son, who only wears a diaper at night. At only $5, it's a bargain. It is vinyl, and impervious to leaks! I was worried about it not being breathable, but I use a fleece liner with prefolds and a doubler, and have had no rash and no complaints. My son sleeps for 12 hours, and is a heavy wetter. Since making the switch, he is waking up happy and not asking to be changed immediately. These are a great deal! -- Lyn (Mar 11/00)
I've had pretty good success with Gerber newborn sized DSQ prefolds. I've used them with a combination of Dappi, Prowrap and Diaperap covers and so far so good! I'm new at this, but using the prefolds and Velcro® covers has been pretty hassle-free and I'm happy enough so far. -- Amelia W. (Dec 13/99)
I use the Proraps covers and the Gerber and Chinese prefolds. I like the Gerbers better because they seem more absorbent to me, but both are fine. I was able to buy the Gerber diapers retail for $11 for 6. The Proraps are the greatest. Nice leg gussets, Velcro® holds up and not much leakage out of the cover (unless my husband diapers her). So far I have been using the Prorap colors, I just bought the Classics and Basics so I will let you know. Cost-wise, Proservices will sell seconds -- call and ask. Only $3.00 each. I have also bought some Gerber EZ Covers, not as good, they gap around her waist and not as good of fit on my Emma. However, the Velcro® kicks butt on this cover and hold up great. -- Amy Weinheimer (Dec 11/99)
I like Diaper Service diapers - flat prefolds - Gerber or Proservice. Diaper pins get fast with practice! Prowraps are wonderful, and I really love the quality and value of the Zippidy coverups! A better value can't be found! -- Lisa Durand (Nov 1/99)
I've also been very impressed with Pro Wraps. They are the only things that I trust my heavy wetter in at night. -- Tiffany Baker (Oct 1/99)
Proraps snap diaper run really, really big! My 30lb 2 1/2 yr old boy could fit in a size small. -- Ricki (Sept 9/99)
I have used the Bummi Super Whisper wrap and the Proraps diaper covers. At first I preferred the Bummi Super Whisper wrap as it was easier to put on and softer than the Prorap. However the Bummi leaks right through the wrap if it's a very wet diaper, and the Velcro® has worn out after a few months of washings. While the Prorap is very waterproof and durable, I've found that it stains easily, and the low cut front leaves the cloth diaper sticking out, unless I fold it in carefully. -- Laurie (Aug 8/99)
My son is 9 months old and we've tried many different covers that we mainly found at thrift stores. This is what I have found so far. Ecology Kids are my least favorite. They leaked easily and if I tightened the top enough to stay on my son's waist, the leg holes were too big. The Gerber cover, in my opinion, had sturdy Velcro® but leaks easily and is bulky. Dappi covers work only for a short time. I wash them very carefully but the fasteners wear out within a few washes and scratch my baby's legs. The cloth on the outside doesn't protect his clothing at all. We have one Prowrap with the Velcro® and it was the only one I was satisfied with, but now he likes to take his diaper off himself so we are looking for alternatives. -- Shannon Harker (Jul 15/99)
I Love the Proraps color wraps. I was using the normal Proraps and had the problem of the urine soaking thru the Velcro® closure, not with the color wrap, it has a separate panel on the inside so the thread can't pull the moisture thru on to the baby's clothes. They're Great!! -- Timmi Doerschlag
And I really like Proservice Classics Velcro®, nothing works better with a prefold. -- Jennifer Olson
I don't care for Gerber EZ or Dappi covers but I stand firm that Proraps are the best available. -- Linda Thomas
Covers I Love: Prowraps, Bumpkins, ME Airflows. -- Robin Smith
Loves: Prorap diaper covers -- Sue Ellen Wilson
I'm new to cloth diapering, but I love Zippidys and so far the only covers I've used are Proraps. -- Monique Dean
The Prorap Snap Classic cover really runs large, but is durable. -- Mary Russell
I have a Prowrap Snap cover that I really like but I don't have any diapers that fit under it. This cover runs big, but it is more of a bikini cut so if you use a very full fitted diaper it will stick out of the cover in places. This cover would be great with pins and prefolds (which I don't use) because it has strong snaps, soft bindings, deep leg gussets, is very leakproof and is so easy to wash. -- Serena Johnson
