How To Measure
For a Potty Pail™ Plumbing Adapter

Please read carefully and follow these simple measuring guidelines:

To determine if you need the 3/8" or 1/2" adapter, take out a ruler, a piece of scrap paper and a pair of scissors. Cut a strip of paper approximately 3/8" wide. Now, cut off a piece of the strip EXACTLY - 2 & 1/4" long. At this point it will look something like "a fortune out of a fortune cookie" that would say, "Your life is about to change for the better!"  Ok, next, go to your toilet's shut-off valve. Where the supply line from the water tank meets the shut off valve, there is a nut, wrap the strip of paper around this nut. If the strip meets end to end then, bingo, you need a 3/8" adapter. If the strip is too short and there is a large gap (approximately 3/8" long gap) then bango, you need the 1/2" adapter. If you still need help please call or e-mail bongo.

Your Life Is About To Change For The Better

If the paper strip meets, BINGO, you have a standard 3/8 toilet supply fitting.

* Note if you have a solid supply line you will need to replace it with a flexible supply line, this is very easy and cheap to do (and a good idea too if you haven't replaced it in a very long time). Also, you need to let us know if your supply hose comes out of the side of the valve instead of straight-up.
