Work Together And Save Money:
How Breastfeeding Fills Our Pockets

World Breastfeeding Week is just around the corner going from August 1-7, 2017.
It is an important awareness week that empowers breastfeeding women.
This 25th year's focus is about working together for the common good.

Breastfeeding is the most natural thing in the world, but us moms can receive criticism from people who are unaware of the benefits.
By working together, we can make sure each breastfeeding woman has a network of support, so we feel empowered by our choice to breastfeed our children.

Crazily enough, many people are unaware of how beneficial breastfeeding can be.
This infographic (right) from Mom Loves Best demonstrates exactly how beneficial breastfeeding can be - for child, parent, and for our society at large.

Babies Love It

The first thing we can all agree on, is breastfeeding is extremely healthy for babies.
I loved breastfeeding my children, because I knew I was providing them with the best nutrition and immune support I could offer to them, all while saving money!
Seriously, breastfeeding can save you thousands of dollars a year compared to formula feeding.
By breastfeeding, you can reduce the risk of infections, provide your child with beneficial antibodies, and even help your baby's brain to develop.

Honey, I shrunk my fat!

My favorite part of breastfeeding was I was able to lose the pregnancy weight a little faster.
Okay, so maybe not my favorite part, but that was a bonus!
Truthfully, I loved the bonding time I got with my littles, and knew they were protecting me by breastfeeding as well.
When we breastfeed our children, we have lower rates of cancer and reduce our risk of illnesses like postpartum depression and diabetes.
Our babies work to protect us, just like we work to protect them.
This is just another example as to why working together for the common good is mutually beneficial to us all.

Breathe a Little Deeper

Take a deep breath!
Breastfeeding benefits aren't just for you and your baby, it also results in less air pollution, lower medical expenses, increased work productivity, and fewer sick days taken.
I know how hard it is to be sick as a mom, so if I can help prevent that, I'm all for it.
In fact, by breastfeeding 1,300,000 lives could be saved every year.

By working together, and breastfeeding our children, we can save millions of dollars a year.
Breastfeeding is frugal but healthy.
And your pockets aren't the only ones being saved.
Your choice to breastfeed helps others save money as well.
I love that my choice to breastfeed can help everyone else in society.
It is important to me to do everything I can to help protect the future society, so my children have a healthy and safe place to grow up in.

That is why World Breastfeeding Week's 2017 theme of working together for the common good holds a special place in my heart.
I hope you will join with me in celebrating, and help to create the network of support we all need.
